Crogan Adventures replica dagger now available for preorders!

ATTENTION: NO MORE ORDERS ON KNIVES.  We are sold out.

If you read the Crogan Adventures books (or listen to the radio show) you'll find that one object pops up again and again - a carved dagger first owned by the pirate Catfoot Crogan and passed down through the subsequent generations.  Owned and used by Catfoot, David, Jonathon, Will, Geoffrey, Matthew, Joseph, Robert, and Daniel, as well as a few of their associates, the dagger has an octopus carved into the handle.

Now YOU can own the same knife - or a replica of it, at least.  18" long, and made of a plastic resin, it's hand-cast by the fine folks at Redline Toys from a sculpt made by me.  Each one is hand-painted.  And though it looks like a knife, it's safe for kids to have (though, like anything else, they could probably injure themselves if they use it improperly), and it's safe for use as part of a costume.  While the handle and stand are rigid, the blade is moderately flexible.

ATTENTION: NO MORE ORDERS ON KNIVES.  We are sold out.

And while you might want it for play, or a costume, you may be the sort of person (like me) who prefers to have such things displayed on your bookshelf or mantle.  Don't worry.  You're in luck.  We've got a lovely stand for it to sit atop.

So here's the deal.  Each one of these has to be handmade.  So we're taking preorders right now!

Folks who are going to HeroesCon can pick up theirs at the show!

ATTENTION: NO MORE ORDERS ON KNIVES.  We are sold out.

Folks who AREN'T going to the show will have theirs mailed to 'em by the end of June.

For the moment, we only have options for domestic shipping (meaning lower 48 states).  If you are in a foreign country and want to order one, we can figure out shipping prices.

Notice to Brick and Mortar retailers: We want you to be able to offer this to your customers at the same price that I do here.  So if you're wanting to carry this in your store, please shoot me an e-mail (chris@curiousoldlibrary.com) with your store info and I'll get in touch with what we can do for you.

HeroesCon Commissions Open

Well, I'm going to be moving (multiple trips, I'm afraid, due to school schedule) over the next few weeks, and I figure that, to make sure the whole business doesn't become lost in the shuffle, I ought get crackin' on HeroesCon commissions now.  I usually don't do advance commissions, but last year I was swamped at the table and didn't have a chance to do commissions for everyone who wanted one.  So I figured it time to start doing 'em in advance.  These will all be full-color (watercolored) drawings.  Here are prices:

A: Sketch Card (2.5x3.5"), single character: $5

B: 10 Sketch Cards: $45

C: 5x7" of someone else's character: $20

D: 5x7" of a Crogan Adventures character: $15

E: 8x10" (one OR two characters): $50

F: 8x10" (one OR two Crogan Adventures characters): $45

G: 11x14" (one or two characters): $100

H: 11x14" (one or two Crogan Adventures characters): $75

I: 11x17" (up to three characters WITH background): $150

J: 11x17" (up to three Crogan Adventures characters WITH background): $125

K: Sixteen 5x7" watercolors - one of each of the characters from the Crogan Adventures family tree: $200

These are ONLY FOR PICKUP AT HEROESCON.  Prices reflect that I won't be having to pack and ship these.

Here's the paypal link.  BE SURE TO WRITE BOTH THE FORMAT OPTION (A, F, etc) as well as what you want the subject of the picture to be.

If you all ain't adverse to it, I may post 'em as I finish them.  I've been really bad about posting art lately.

Paper Figure Set: The Kimberly Pit!

Well, it's a new month, and with that comes a brand-new paper figure set for the upcoming episode of the Crogan Adventures radio dramas, a tale set in South Africa in the latter part of 1878.  Six figures in the set!

I'm transitioning my files from being on the school server to being hosted by Google, so I think that this will work, but it'll be a little different than before.  Rather than clicking the link to download it, I think it'll take you to a page from which you can download the file by clicking a button.
